CS Kuria to Lead Kenya Delegation to Indonesia for Bilateral Ties

Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria is set to embark on a three-day visit to Indonesia to engage in bilateral ties.

The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and explore future trade and investment partnerships between Kenya and Indonesia in various sectors.

“This visit follows a significant milestone in the diplomatic ties between our two countries, as senior Indonesian Ministers visited Kenya in January 2023,” stated the statement

Mr Kuria who will be accompanied by a high-level government delegation will engage their Indonesian counterparts, government officials, and industry leaders on ways of exploring future trade and investment opportunities in several sectors, among them edible oils.

In a press statement sent to newsrooms, the delegation will also seek to forge partnerships in the edible oils sector, and foster collaboration in production, processing, and distribution, as well as explore avenues for future cooperation in the mining industry, renewable energy and blue economy in fisheries in the areas of aquaculture and maritime services.

Other areas of engagement include pharmaceuticals industry, such as research and development, manufacturing and distribution of essential medicines, meat and livestock, electric mobility, textile and apparels, as well as agriculture and in particular coffee, tea, nuts, and flower.

“By strengthening ties and exploring future trade and investment opportunities, Kenya and Indonesia will be able to further diversify their economies, create employment opportunities, and foster sustainable development,” said the statement.
