The war against outlawed drugs intensified in Migori County after Police in conjunction with court officials destroyed bhang worth Sh 15.2 million.

Migori Police County Commander Joseph Nthenge while leading security officials to destroy more than 1,000 kg of bhang said the consignment had completed court process and their cases determined.

He said the drugs being destroyed was confiscated by police on duty in different parts of the county from 2016.

Police Commander regretted that close to 100 percent bhang nabbed in Migori County originates from a neighbouring country while on transit to different parts of the country.

Suna East Deputy County Commissioner Denis Mutiso and other security officials witnessed the bhang destruction at Lichota.

Two months ago Migori County Commissioner Joseph Rotich led security officials to reduce to ashes bhang worth 17.2 million at the same place.

Migori County security officials have vowed to continue with the war against drugs until all loopholes and dealers are eliminated.
