In the spirit of containing the spread of Coronavirus, all passengers entering Migori County are subjected to body temperature checks at different roadblocks mounted at entry points.
Health officials from Migori County Government are under strict instructions to check body temperatures, facemask requirements and sanitisers in all passenger, cargo and private vehicles entering the county.
However, a spot check by KNA revealed that most travelers did not wear facemasks nor did they follow strict instructions of social distancing in their sitting. However, some travelers had their own sanitisers on board.
Some complained that they did not find facemasks anywhere and now want the government to ensure everybody accesses them at affordable prices.
Screening of the passengers is being done in Migori along Lake Victoria markets of Sori, Muhuru, Kopanga and Migingo Island.
People entering Kenya from Tanzania at Isebania boarder also undergo body temperature checks and other mandatory security requirements.
