A Makueni court on Tuesday ordered a man who had taken away his four- month daughter from his wife to return the baby to the mother.
The Resident Magistrate, Joan Otieno directed Martin Munyao to return the baby to his estranged wife, Josephine Mbinya who had earlier been arraigned in court and charged with neglecting the infant.
Mbinya denied neglecting the baby in Wote town after separating with her husband over marital woes on October 2.
She is out on a Sh.100, 000 bond with a surety of the same amount.
While giving out the orders, the magistrate noted that the child was still breastfeeding and needed the tender care of the mother.
Hearing of the case has been slated for December 11.
