Nakuru County is mourning the death of Hell’s Gate Ward Representative John Njuguna Njenga after a short illness.
Nakuru County Assembly Speaker Joel Kairu said the county law maker succumbed to a short illness while undergoing treatment at the Nakuru Nursing Home Monday afternoon.
Kairu described the departed Member of County Assembly as an astute leader who made significant contributions at the County Assembly of Nakuru in developing Bills for improvement of livelihoods.
The speaker, while sending his condolences to the people of Hell’s Gate and the MCA’s family, asked County residents to remember the bereaved family in prayers even as they await burial arrangements.
In his condolence message, Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui hailed the fallen ward representative as a passionate leader who was keen on helping the County improve on its education outcomes.
The late Njenga sat on the Education Committee where he is eulogized as an active and committed member.
Before venturing in politics, the late ward representative worked as an Education officer in the Ministry of Education.
In his condolence message, Kabazi MCA Dr Peter Mbae expressed shock following the passing on of his colleague, popularly known as ‘wasussy’ saying that his death was a big blow to the assembly and his family.
