The Kakamega County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Finance, Planning and ICT Dr. Beatrice Sabana has challenged staff in the county to embrace technology in order to perform efficiently and effectively.
Dr. Sabana said with the strict government guidelines on public gatherings courtesy of coronavirus, the ICT and Communication officers should leverage on technology to continue providing essential government services to the residents through electronic platforms.
“We are an integral sector that should provide communication solutions to various stakeholders including conducting public participation on government programmes to our people,” she noted.
The CECM added that there is need to devolve ICT to the ward level to give residents a chance to participate in fast tracking government policies.
She urged them to monitor implementation of key ministerial projects to ensure they are completed within agreed time frames.
Some of the projects being implemented include the Enterprise Resource Planning system, Electronic Money Transfer (Cashless system), CCTV installation in government offices and the Fleet Management system.
