Vihiga County has started selecting teams for various disciplines in readiness for the upcoming Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Association.
Talented staff have been recruited to constitute the men and women basketball teams.
Zachariah Kabagi, a coach and national referee with the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) who conducted the exercise, said the selection process was vigorous and the men and women chosen have what it takes to post impressive results in the tournament.
The Chief Officer (CO) for sports and culture Philip Gavuna said that the selection exercise will not only provide an avenue for everyone to participate but also enable them to pick competent squads.
The other teams that have also been assembled include the tug of war, netball, handball and volleyball while for the indoor games it will be done next week.
The 9th edition of the KICOSCA will be held from January 14 to 21 in Kisumu County.
