The county government of Nyeri has put in place a raft of measures aimed at stemming the spread of Covid -19 disease.
The County Director for Health Services Dr. Nelson Muriu on Friday spelled out stringent measures to be taken by business enterprises and financial institutions in the spirited efforts to tame the spread of coronavirus.
With effect from Monday, all supermarkets and outlets in the region have been instructed to withdraw the use of luggage cards.
The cards are usually used by shoppers for tagging their luggage and bags left outside the outlets as they go for shopping.
Dr. Muriu further instructed business enterprises and financial institutions to enhance frequent cleaning and sanitising of their premises.
“All business premises and financial institutions must enhance cleaning and sanitising of ATM machines, biometric devices, door knobs and handles and all surfaces within their premises,” the medic said.
At the same time, all business and institutions have been directed to limit the number of people within their establishment at any given time in order to reduce congestion and also ensure that the one meter distance rule is observed.
“In addition, we urge all institutions, premises and citizens to take health precautions endorsed by the government and the department of health seriously,” said Dr. Muriu.
