The County Government will work harmoniously with the judiciary to ensure expedition of justice to the members of the public.
Deputy Governor Philomena Kapkory assured members of the judiciary in Kitale that the county leadership will collaborate with the courts for public good.
Mrs. Kapkory said this during a farewell luncheon for outgoing Justice Luka Kimaru of the Kitale law courts held at a Kitale hotel.
Justice Kimaru had noted that there existed frosty relations between the previous county regime and the judiciary which affected the dispensation of justice.
He however said the current administration had pledged to ensure that they have a harmonious working relationship with the judiciary and affirmed that the legal arm of government will reciprocate.
Justice Anthony Mrima takes over from Justice Kimaru as the Presiding Judge for the Kitale law courts with the latter proceeding to the court of appeal on promotion.
The luncheon was also attended by the County Secretary Sifuna Wakofula, staff of the judiciary and representatives from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Also represented were Kitale chapter law society of Kenya members, the National Police, Kenya Forest Service, Probation department among other stakeholders.
Deputy Governor was issued with a certificate of appreciation from the Judiciary presented to her by Justice Kimaru for expressing commitments to improve on their working relations.
