The construction of an industrial park at Limanet area in Narok town is anticipated to create numerous job opportunities for the young people in the county.
Narok Peace Ambassador Dr. Joshua Kaputa said the programme, expected to be launched during the presidential visit in Narok town, would be a game changer for the many youths in the county who would benefit directly or indirectly from the park.
Dr. Kaputa observed that despite the county being a cosmopolitan area, the residents have co-existed peacefully and in return attracted many investors and expanded businesses in the town.
He said this when he held a peace rally in Narok town that attracted hundreds of youths and the business community.
Dr. Kaputa called on the youth to support the elected leaders so that they could deliver the promises they gave during the campaigns saying if the leaders failed to deliver services, they would be voted out in the general elections.
Maasai Mara Student Association President Jerry Ayieko said young people in the country have high expectations with the current administration and asked President William Ruto to visit the county and launch mega projects.
Ayieko praised President Ruto for appointing young people in key positions in government among them the Principal Secretary of Youth Affairs, Fikirini Jacobs, who is an alumna of Maasai Mara University.
In a past presser, Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu revealed that the industrial park set to be established in the county would have a meat processing factory, milk plant and potato processing plant.
“For a long time, Narok farmers have suffered in the hands of middle-men who take advantage of the lack of ready market in the county to exploit them. However, this trend will change soon as farmers will have a market for their produce in the county,” he said.
This means both crop and livestock farmers in the county will have a rich market for their produce hence boost the living standards of the people.
