Mandera residents have been asked to help government in fighting organized crime such as terrorism.
Speaking during this year’s 59th Jamhuri day celebrations county commissioner Onesmus Kyatha cautioned the resident in aiding these terrorists.
He urged the resident to share information on suspected members of the Al-Shabaab terror group with security agencies.
Mr Kyatha appealed to parents to keep in touch and know the whereabouts of their children whom he said could be easily lured into joining the militia group.
Mr Kyatha also warned residents not to involve themselves with the terrorist in any kind of business including selling them foodstuffs or linking them to any specific institutions saying they were everyone’s enemy.
Mandera Governor Mohamed Khalif urged the residents to cooperate with security in information sharing so as to secure our borders in the entire county.
This comes after yesterday’s attack where suspected Al-Shabaab attacked a Landcruiser vehicle killing two occupants a man and his son, while injuring two Kenya police reservists at jabi bar along Elwak-Rhamu road in Mandera North.
