Cold season reprieve for the vulnerable

Over 50 residents of Embu County have benefited from blanket donations from the Lions Club of Embu.

Speaking during the donation occasion at the Lions Primary School in Embu town, the Lions Club of Embu President CJ Patel said the blankets were meant to cushion the venerable members of the community against the adverse cold weather.

Patel said some of the beneficiaries were blind, old, sick, and poor, adding that the club has religiously donated blankets during the cold season for the last 45 years.

He thanked the local administration for helping in identifying the most deserving beneficiaries, who were mainly drawn from the local slums, including Kathita, Dallas, Shauri, and Grogan.

He said the club was willing and ready to work with the local community to address the biting challenges and needs.

Local chief Titus Mugambi thanked the Lions Club for responding to the needs of the community continually.
