Rev. Kasoo lamented that some of the foods advertised in the electronic media were allegedly poorly handled before being processed, adding that this has contributed to many children getting sick.
“Food is harvested well from the farms, but it is handled poorly when it reaches factories. The government should put in place checks to ensure the foods are well processed before they are consumed by our children to minimise diseases,” said Reverend Kasoo while talking to the media in his Wote town office on Wednesday.
Rev. Kasoo, who is also the Vice Chairperson of Makueni County Coordination Committee, advised the people of Kenya to eat traditional foods like pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and vegetables, which he said were nutritious to consume.
“We must revive the farming practices of our grandfathers, focusing on traditional foods that naturally nourish our bodies,” he added.
