The Nyahururu Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) Diocesan Bishop has called upon the church to envision and embrace fast-tracking outreach for the less privileged in society.
Bishop Dr. Peter Kinyua Mwangi said the Diocese would enhance eradication of poverty and fast-track its Mercy Ministry to reach out to the widows, youth and elderly in the society.
The cleric, whose Diocese covers Nyandarua, Laikipia and Samburu Counties, was addressing a congregation drawn from the three counties at CFF Central Church in Nyahururu.
He called upon the church leaders to, apart from carrying out the main call of evangelising, embrace their outreach to these vulnerable groups.
The Bishop further pointed out that the Diocese would have programmes which would enhance helping the less privileged as well as the eradication of poverty.
“The programmes will encourage the broken-hearted who may see themselves as useless in the society and help them to become useful persons in the society,” said the Bishop adding that he would set a day in the Diocese for the Mercy Ministry where foodstuffs and clothing, among other items, would be collected to help the needy.
Bishop Kinyua encouraged the pastors and church leaders not to be discouraged by what they were experiencing as they shepherded the people of God but to trust God to help them overcome the challenges.
He also encouraged the clergy to work as a team and embrace the vision of the diocese, adding that for every vision to be accomplished, it requires a team and team spirit.
On the growth of the diocese, which started as a region with only 12 churches, he said it has graduated to a Diocese with 112 churches currently, a growth he attributed to cooperation and teamwork.
