A section of clergy and political leaders have called for divine intervention to help unite Kenyans amid political division occasioned by the debate on the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Nyahururu Anglican Church Diocesan Bishop Samson Gachathi said that time has come for all leaders and Kenyans in general to come together and seek forgiveness and love for one another in order to help the country move forward.
He observed that there were a myriad of challenges facing the country that required urgent attention; hence, Members of Parliament needed to focus on service delivery and seeking solutions to such challenges instead of engaging in the impeachment of other elected leaders.
He spoke at Nyahururu’s Pro-Cathedral Church during celebrations to commission several members of the clergy and evangelists in their episcopal service to the church.
Former Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki called on President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua to embrace humility and learn to tolerate each other in order to allow the country to move forward.
She noted that their differences would only hurt Kenyans more and would not serve any good.
The leaders observed that there was no need to rush to institute impeachment of the Deputy Presidents, whereas there were other serious issues facing Kenyans, including the transition from the now defunct NHIF to the Social Health Authority (SHA) and the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) and economic challenges, among others.
