Chuka High School proved their prowess in music after all their presentations in various categories qualified to the Regional level during the Tharaka Nithi County music festivals on Saturday.
Chuka Boys High took the lead in Taaarab Songs, Zilizopendwa, Scottish and German set verses in county music festivals held at Our Lady of Mercy High School.
This comes immediately after taking lead in all the three categories during the sub-county levels held at Ikuu National School the previous weekend.
They will be proceeding for their regional level at Makueni County where they hope to outshine all their competitors so as to secure a place for the national levels in Nakuru County.
Ms. Liz Nthigah, the music club patron was proud and congratulated the boys for their win despite losing their teacher, Mary Njoki in charge of co-curricular activities one day prior to the festivals.
“I am so happy that we did well even after we received the news of the demise of our teacher a day before the festivals and I believe that the boys will still make us proud at the regional levels,” Ms. Nthigah told KNA shortly after the event.
Chuka High School led in three categories in the Meru South Sub-County music festivals held at Ikuu Boys’ National school.
At the Sub–County levels Chuka High School took part in nine categories out of the twenty items and appeared position 1 in Taaarab Music, Zilizopendwa and Scottish and German dances besides securing position 2 in Kiswahili Choral Verse, Gospel Outside Kenya and Kiswahili Solo.
