Hundreds of passengers are stranded in Mandera as police begin implementing traffic rules.
Three companies have been affected in the crackdown, Moyale liner, Medina and Mecca bus services.
Passengers accused the government of implementing the laws over the Christmas festive session.
They asked police to review their stand and allow them to travel and enjoy Christmas with their loved ones.
The passengers said they travelled to the bus station only to be told the journey had been canceled by area security agents.
They vowed they will not take the fare refund but the bus companies to organize for their travel to Nairobi.
Contacted the sub county Police commander Richard Ngetich said the government will not renege on protecting public lives.
Mr. Ngetich said all the buses plying to Nairobi are not traffic rules compliant.
He said they lacked safety belts and we’re totally unroad worthy.
