Chinese Investors Come Calling in the County

The  Kakamega County Government has hammered with a deal Chinese investors that will see the latter invest in various sectors of the economy.

The  agreement paves way for the investors to exploit opportunities in health, agriculture and education sectors.

The  County Health Services Executive, Rachel Okumu urged the visitors to deal in the supply of pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals, ophthalmology and orthopedic appliances.

Okumu said the other areas include offering specialised training for the health staff as well as carrying out exchange programmes

The Chinese delegation was led by the General Manager of Yunnan Zhonghe Industrial Company, He Wang and they toured the ongoing Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital project.

Zhonghe appreciated efforts being undertaken by the county government in achieving quality universal healthcare.

The actualization of the deal will boost agri-business, manufacturing, metal fabrications and scholarships

This has come after a one-week workshop in China dubbed Africa-China Forum for Economic Growth held in Saikang early this month.

The  county was represented by the County Secretary and Head of Public Service, Jacinta Aluoch.
