The Central Regional Commissioner (CC), Wilfred Nyagwanga has ordered all Chiefs and their assistants in the region to conduct a door-to-door sensitization and awareness campaign of the public on Corona Virus and its prevention.
Nyagwanga also tasked the administrators to also ensure locals take precaution for the next 30 days in a bid to minimize contact that could easily lead to the spread of the deadly viral disease.
“All chiefs must go from house to house to ensure people have taken precaution and avoid crowding in social places,” said the RC.
Speaking in his office on Tuesday during a meeting with County Commissioners from the Region, Nyagwanga said the most critical thing at the moment was minimizing contact amongst people to ensure the disease does not spread.
“We want people to stay in their homes for some time unless on unavoidable circumstances when they have to ran some errands such as going to the markets or retail outlets to make purchases,” the RC said.
He noted that some of the measures aimed at reducing congestion in public and social places will be enforced for safety of the people.
He also directed all Public Service Vehicle (PSV) operators to ensure they have made provision for hand sanitizers to all travelers especially in the main terminals.
