Chief Face Forgery Charges

An Assistant Chief who allegedly forged Academic documents which she used to secure employment in Government has denied that she forged the said documents.

            Fidelis Wambui Njoroge was put to her defence today and told Kiambu Chief Magistrate Ms. Stella Atambo that she schooled at Kibubuti primary school and proceeded to Loreto Girls High School in Kiambu where she did her KCSE.

            After she completed her secondary education, she applied for the position of assistant chief and after an interview which 6 applicants were shortlisted she was employed.She continued that after 3 years those who had not gotten the job started wichhunting her with “vitina” making her to loose the job and be arraigned in court with the 7 counts.

            She has been charged that on or before 27 June 2019 at an unknown place within the republic of Kenya, with intent to deceive, without lawful authority or excuse, she made a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education number 874872 purporting it to be a genuine certificate issued by the National Examination Council.

            County 2 stated that on or before 27th June 2013 at an unknown place within the republic of Kenya, she forged a school learning certificate purporting it to be a genuine certificate issued by the Loreto Secondary School Kiambu contrary to section 357 of the penal code.

According to Count 3, on 27th June, she unlawfully uttered the KCSE certificate without authority while count 4 stated that she unlawfully uttered the school leaving certificate without authority.

In count 5, she was charged with unlawfully making a document without authority that or before May 11th 2015 at unknown place within the republic of Kenya, with intent to deceive and without lawful authority or excuse, she made a statement of examination results number 2097346 purporting it to be a genuine statement of Examination Council.

In Count 6, she has been charged that on 11th May 2015 at Kiambu Sub-county headquarters within Kiambu County with intent to deceive, knowingly uttered the statement of National results No. 20197346 which had been made without lawful authority.

Count 7 states that she uttered the statement of Examination at Harambee Housein Nairobi County with intent to deceive.

She pleaded not guilty to all the counts and  at the close of the prosecution case, she chose to remain in the dock where she defended herself and was not sworn in .

She also did not call any witness to corroborate her defence. The court will deliver its judgement on March 5,2021.

She is meanwhile out on a bond of 50,000 shillings.
