CFAO mobility announces sponsorship for World Rally Championship 2025

Corporation For and Overseas (CFAO) Mobility Kenya has officially announced its sponsorship for the 2025 World Rally Champions (WRC) Safari Rally in Kenya committing to spend Sh33 million in organizing the event.

The event, featured a commemoration of 100 years since the Toyota Gazoo racing team started participating in the rally.

Speaking at the event, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Cabinet Secretary, Salim Mvurya, stated that this year marked the fifth consecutive year that CFAO is sponsoring the WRC Safari Rally Kenya.

As part of the sponsorship, CFAO Mobility will provide a TTR Hilux pickup as the official double zero car (route opener). With a renewed focus on road safety, the event will also introduce a school mural competition promoting safe road use, pedestrian safety, and responsible driving behaviour among young Kenyans.

CFAO Mobility also unveiled the #HiluxUnleashYourShujaa campaign, celebrating the Hilux’s legacy of durability, performance, and reliability.

 

“The Hilux is truly made in Kenya for Kenya, tried and tested to be the most reliable pickup for all transportation needs,” added Mvurya.

CFAO Mobility’s partnership reinforces its commitment to growing motorsports in Kenya while strengthening its bond with loyal customers.

In addition, Safari Rally Kenya, CEO, Charles Gacheru, stated that confidently for the first time the WRC in the country will be delivered under Sh1 billion, a significant reduction from Sh1.3 billion spent in the previous year.

“It is essential to nurture young talent from a young age. Research shows that by the age of 14, young people should have already begun exploring potential sports disciplines,” said Gacheru.

The Kenyan government reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing young talents. Through partnering with Safari Rally Kenya, to expand its, Junior Training Facility, launched last year. To equip young drivers with essential training in safety, speed, and overall driving skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for professional motorsports careers.
