Catholic Bishop calls for unity after polls

Catholic Bishop of Kakamega Diocese Rt Rev Joseph Obanyi Sagwe has asked winners in this year to embrace handshakes with their competitors.

While hailing Kenyans for the peaceful election campaigns that has culminated into a peaceful voting exercise, Bishop Obanyi asked losers to accept election results as the choice of the people so that the country may continue to experience the peace and tranquility that it enjoys.

Speaking today at Mukumu Girls Boarding Primary school after casting his vote, Bishop Obanyi commended Kenyans for exercising maturity and asked losers to accept defeat and allow those elected to focus on serving Kenyans.

“Peace should prevail hereafter and both winners and losers should come together and shake hands so that winners can start to serve Kenyans,” he said.

He said “We know all leadership comes from God and we shall continue to pray for the country so that we may continue to enjoy peace” he said.
