Busia County FKF branch league kick-off date set

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Busia County Branch League season
2020-2021 is set to kick-off on February 20.

According to FKF Busia Branch chairman, Hillary Musundi, the inaugural county league will see 18 teams drawn in two zones A and B battle it out for top honours in the Odi Bets sponsored league.

A total of 146 matches will be played in four and a half months of football action, with 56 matches in Zone A and 90 matches in zone B which has more teams.

The branch chairman said they arrived at the kick-off date after addressing all issues that arose from the Coronavirus pandemic, noting that they are now ready to hold the matches in conformity with the Ministry of Health protocols.

Musundi said Zone A will feature eight teams including Musokoto FC, St Anthony Okatekok, Kamolo FC, FC Amagoro, Boca Junior, Malaba Giants, Kakurikit and Kekalet.

Zone B will have Dragon FC, Young Rovers, Ajax FC, Mungatsi, Green
Canopy, Mabale United, Busia YC, Masters FC, Teens of Hope and Butula Eagles.

In the Zone A fixtures, Musokoto from Nambale Sub County is set to host
Kamolo FC from Teso North at Musokoto Primary School in the opening match of the campaign.

The other match will see St Anthony Okatekok from Teso South Sub County battle it out with FC Amagoro from Teso North.

In Zone B, Dragons FC from Samia will take on the Young Rovers from Teso South at Nyakwaka Primary School; Ajax FC from Teso South will battle with Mungatsi from Nambale at Okame Primary School with Green Canopy from Matayos taking on Mabale United in a local derby at Mundika Primary School.

Teams participating in the County Branch League will enjoy Odi Bets sponsorship, where each team will get two sets of uniform, six balls and training kits.
