A sombre mood has engulfed Kokara village, Masala sub location in Rarieda Sub County after a gruesome fight between two brothers, both teachers, left one dead and the other fighting for his life at Bondo hospital.
According to Rarieda Sub County Police Commandant Thomas Ototo who confirmed the incident, the deceased, Stephen Otieno, a primary school teacher at Dagamoyo, together with his surviving brother Calvin Odhiambo, a teacher at Barchando secondary school, were involved in a fight leading to the fateful incident.
Ototo disclosed that the deceased, who had head injuries, was found with a rope around his neck inside his house while Odhiambo was rescued and rushed to Bondo sub county hospital with multiple bodily injuries.
He revealed that preliminary investigation into the early morning incident has cast doubt on the possibility that Otieno may have committed suicide.
The Police Commandant said that the cause of the fight between the two brothers was yet to be established but police have launched investigations into the incident.
Ototo has warned members of the public to find amicable solution to family disputes instead of taking matters into their own hands to avoid such incidences.
The body was removed to Madiany sub county hospital mortuary.
