Boy behind bars for kidnapping minor

A 16-year-old boy was  on Wednesday arraigned before a Nyahururu law court for kidnapping a minor.

He pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Nyahururu Senior Resident Magistrate, Ocharo Momanyi.

The boy who is also a barber was accused of kidnapping a 12-year-old girl at Marmanet Township.

Particulars of the incident set out in the charges indicated the boy together with others who were still at large, jointly collaborated to kidnap the girl at Marmanet area in Laikipia County on November 4, 2018.

In defence, the accused told the court that he had been forgiven by the complainant’s mother over the matter.

The minor was remanded at Marmanet police station until November 23, 2018 when the case will be mentioned.
