Fear has gripped residents of Kamuiru village in Murang’a County after they found a male body with missing parts dumped by roadside Friday morning.
Murang’a East Sub County Police Commander Mr. Alexander Muasya said the body was stuffed in a polythene sack and was dumped on Mukuyu-Kambirwa road, few kilometres from Murang’a town.
Muasya observed that some organs including the eyes and ears were missing, head skinned while the hands had deep cuts.
He said the murder could be associated with cultism considering the missing body parts but hastened to say that police were investigating the incident.
“Parts of flesh around the chest were removed and the assailants also skinned his head leaving the skull exposed. The state of the body was really scary,” added the police commander.
He said documents recovered from the body read Chege Njuguna. “From the scene we established the body was dumped in the area by people using a motorbike as signs of tyres were visible,” added Muasya.
The commander appealed to area residents to provide information that may help in identifying the victim and the killers.
On the other hand, residents termed the incident worrying saying they feared being attacked. “We have never witnessed such incident in this area. We are appealing to police to increase patrols to protect us from criminal gangs,” said a mother who requested anonymity.
The body was moved to Murang’a county referral hospital mortuary.
