Man Body found dumped beside the road in Narok

Residents of Kojong’a area in Narok East Sub County woke up to a rude shock when they found a body of a 59-year-old man dumped in a ditch beside the road.

Narok County Police Commandant Kizito Motoro said the body identified to be of Kennedy Wesonga had visible minor bruises on the face.

“Ezekiel Amboya the son to the deceased, helped in identifying the body before it was moved to Narok County Referral Hospital where it is preserved awaiting postmortem,” he reiterated.

The police boss assured the members of the public that the police would carry out thorough investigations to establish the cause of death.

Jeremiah Nkamasiai a neighbour to the deceased said the departed friend was a hardworking farmer who related well with the neighbours.

“We woke up only to find the body of the deceased lying in a ditch. We reported to the area chief who later informed the police. We believe the police will carry out investigations to ascertain the cause of his death,” said Nkamasiai.

Several incidents of bodies found dumped beside the road, water bodies and bushes have been reported in the county in the recent past with a recent one being of a six months old infant whose body was found beside River Ewaso Nyiro in Narok North Sub County on Saturday.

On Thursday last week, a body of an unknown person was found decomposing in a thicket in Olombkishi area in Narok East Sub County.

The body had been discovered by herders who reported to the authority of the decaying human body in the bush. The police have called on anyone who might have lost a loved one to report to police to help in identifying the body, which was completely disfigured.
