Police in Narok North Sub County are investigating an incident where the body of a middle-aged man was found dumped at a culvert near the Maasai Mara University Gate this morning.
Narok North Police boss Fred Erick Kibenei said the body that is yet to be identified had no visible injuries and the man could have been murdered elsewhere before the body was dumped at the culvert.
“There were no signs of struggle at the spot where the body was collected meaning the man could have been murdered somewhere else and body dumped at the university gate,” he added.
Kibenei said they received information from the members of the public who informed them of a body lying near the university gate when he sent his officers to the scene.
“We have launched investigations to get the root cause of the murder that has left many of us in shock. The man’s identity is also yet to be established so that the family members can be informed,” he explained.
The body of the deceased was moved to Narok County Referral Hospital for preservation awaiting postmortem as the police call on anyone who has lost their loved ones to report to the police station in a bid to assist in identifying the deceased.
The police boss has further called on the members of the public to report suspected persons to the police to eliminate criminals in their midst.
“People should be reminded to observe the curfew hours between 10 pm to 4 am because these are the hours when crime is rampant. Those who will be found outside their homes during the curfew hours will be treated as criminals,” he added.
