A 50-year-old bishop has been arrested for allegedly defiling his12-year-old daughter in Komuoyo village of Kasewe “A” Sub Location in Rachuonyo East Sub County.
Bishop George Ogango of Roho ST church based in Oloo Bongu area was nabbed last evening over accusation of engaging into sexual activities with his daughter who is a class seven pupil at a local primary school in the area.
According to one of the area clan elders who declined to be quoted said that the clergy repeatedly defiled the minor on his matrimonial bed on three consecutive days from Wednesday to Friday last week when his wife had gone to attend a funeral.
The clan elder said that the suspect took advantage of the absence of the mother to commit the heinous act with the minor who is said to have been sired out of the wedlock, when his wife was in Kendu Bay, Rachuonyo North Sub County where she had gone to attend a funeral
of her relative.
The ordeal was later revealed by the suspect’s wife, who disclosed the information to one of the neighbors after the bishop had warned her together with the minor against telling anyone about the incident owing to his position in society.
Confirming the incident to KNA, Rachuonyo East Sub County deputy commissioner (DCC) Jack Obuo said the clergy was arrested after the minor’s medical examination report from the sub county Hospital reveals that she was defiled.
Obuo further said that the suspect is being detained at Othoro police station awaiting to be arraigned in court.
