Kericho County Governor Dr. Eric Mutai has officially launched the beautification exercise to be carried out around Kericho town ahead of the national Mashujaa Day celebrations.
Speaking during the launch of the exercise that will give Kericho town a facelift, Dr. Mutai said the Guru Nanak Community had partnered with the Kericho County government to beautify the town to boost its ambiance.
The governor urged business people within the town to join in the facelift programme by painting their shops and replacing dilapidated tiles to give the town an attractive look for visitors to tour around and shop during the Mashujaa celebrations.
“I am overjoyed to inaugurate the beautification works of Kericho Town. The scope of work includes landscaping, streetlighting, and fixing drainage systems. We are touched and grateful for this partnership with Gurunanak Community, and as the county government, we will work closely with all stakeholders who have shown interest in changing the look of our county,” he said.
The governor assured that all preparations were in place to ensure successful Mashujaa Day celebrations.
