Baringo residents urged to collect their IDs for voting

Nearly 1300 residents of Baringo County who lost their National Identity cards and made application for replacement have been urged to liaise with their respective chiefs and assistant chiefs to collect the document to enable them cast their ballot tomorrow.

Speaking to KNA today, Baringo County Registrar of persons Sharon Chelimo said they received the cards Monday morning and dispatched them to the seven sub-counties.

“We received 1300 National Identity cards this morning and we have dispatched them to the seven sub-counties of Baringo for onward transmission to their owners,” said Mrs. Chelimo.

Baringo Central and Koibatek sub-counties received 300 cards each, Baringo North and South 200 cards each Tiaty East and West 100 cards both, while Mogotio Sub-county got 150 cards.

The cards coming a day to the Tuesday 9th general elections could lock many citizens out of the important exercise but those willing can still liaise with their chiefs tomorrow, collect and use the same to vote same day.
