Baringo North constituency verification process continues

Elections officials have burnt the midnight oil to deliver results at the Baringo North constituency tallying centre in Moi boys’ secondary school in Kabartonjo.

Deputy Returning Officer Dan Yegon told KNA at the county tallying grounds that they had received results and verified forms for a total of 49 stations out of the total 206 polling stations.

“We have a total of five wards in this constituency namely Saimo Soi, Kabartonjo, Bartabwa, Saimo Kipsarama and Barwessa,” Yegon said.

Yegon said that by 7.00 am Wednesday they had received a total of 7 out of 44 forms from Saimo Soi ward, 12 out of 32 in Kabartonjo, 20 out of 40 in Bartabwa, 5 out of 33 in Saimo Kipsaraman and 20 out of 40 from Barwessa ward.

Tallying centre presiding officer Ian Felix said the presiding officers of over 120 polling stations were queuing waiting to submit results and forms for verification, adding that process was going on smoothly despite the biting cold.

“The constituency is vast this explains why there was a delay in start of verification as the exercise started at around 1.00 am,” Felix said.

He said so far there had been no hitches recorded and was optimistic that by end of the day they will have finished the process.
