The Kenya Commercial Bank Nanyuki Branch Manager was on Saturday night found dead in his house in Nanyuki town.
George Kiarie’s lifeless body was discovered by fellow employees and police officers inside the toilet after they broke into his house when he failed to show up at work and his phone went unanswered.
Laikipia County Police Commander (CPC) Maxwell Nyaema while confirming the death said that officers at the bank got curious after efforts to reach their manager were futile by the end of the Saturday and made the report at Nanyuki police station.
“A Bank employee by the name Paul Mwaniki made the report and officers visited Kiarie’s house at Immanuel Flats in Nanyuki Town where they broke into his room only to find his body in the toilet at around 10.00 pm,” Nyaema added.
The Commander said investigations have been launched into the possible cause of the sudden death of Mr Kiarie who was said to have been ok all the week.
The manager, 50, was an outgoing person and bonded well with many people within and outside Nanyuki town. He was described as a humble manager. He lived alone in Nanyuki as his family lives in another town.
He used to attend most of the corporate and county functions and his death came as a shock to many of those who knew him.
His body was later taken to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem as police commence investigations into the incident.
