Bandari on Tuesday enhanced their chances of winning this year’s Sportspesa Premier League title when they beat Vihiga United 2-0 at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.
David King’atua scored the first goal in the 15th minute to give Bandari a half-time lead.
Vihiga United came back in the second half more stronger but their efforts were thwarted when Bandari’s prolific striker, Yema Muana added the second goal in the 77th minute to make sure the Dockers collected the three vital points.
Bandari is now in second position with 25 points after playing 12 matches while Mathare United who on the same day lost 1-4 against Sofapaka in Nairobi is still top of the league with 25 points after playing 13 matches but with superior goal difference.
Sofapaka is on third position with 23 points while defending champions Gor Mahia follows with 22 points but still have two matches in hand.
The Bandari Coach, Bernard Mwalala praised his players for the good performance saying his team will put more effort to clinch this year’s tittle. Bandari came second in last year’s league behind Gor Mahia.
