The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) is urging members to embrace technology in order to boost efficiency in their work.
The ICPAK Western Branch Chairman, Fredrick Toloyi said there were emerging trends in the auditing profession hence the need for capacity building for the members.
“There are evolving issues in the auditing field occasioned by technological advancement and so the professionals have to be regularly updated on the same,” he told stakeholders at a Kakamega Hotel on Saturday.
The attendees were also introduced to a new ICPAK software developed by the institute to digitize and simplify the auditing process.
The Managing partner of Ronalds LCP group, Ronald Bwosi, said the application is an initiative by ICPAK to provide auditors with a cost effective tool with which to conduct engagements and ease navigation.
“I am urging you to embrace the new application software as it is aimed at boosting efficiency effectiveness in the auditing work,” he said.
The forum brought together among others internal and external auditors from the public and public sectors, academicians and consultants.
