The Anti-terrorism theme dominated day three of Eastern Region Secondary music festivals held at Makueni Boys’ High School on Friday.
The various schools from the Eastern region took to music and dance advocating for the safety of Kenyans.
General Mulinge Secondary School took to the stage with their own composition, under class 364, ‘kudumisha usalama’ a song enumerating anti-terrorism measures in a category sponsored by the Kenya Police.
Mbuani Mixed Secondary School from Machakos County seemed to agree, taking the tribute of anti-terrorism a notch higher in a verse that that emphasized that everybody should be their brother’s keeper that is the ‘Nyumba Kumi’ Initiative.
General Mulinge School were declared the overall winners in this category ahead of Mbuani Secondary and Kilungu Boys with their song ‘tukomeshe ugaidi’.
A.B.C. Mitaboni Girls led in the class 346, a special taarab composition with a song encouraging students to put more efforts in their studies as education is the backbone of the society.
At the same time, Moi Mbiruri boys presented a song in the same class 346 entitled ‘mihadarati tuwache’ encouraging the youths to stop the use of drugs and substance abuse and instead challenged them to concentrate on education.
The festival is scheduled to end tomorrow with winners in various categories proceeding to the national level to be held at Kabarak University.
