About 945,000 people had been registered with Huduma Namba, the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) by Friday last week in Kilifi County just before the Mass registration was extended by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking to the press in Kilifi at the weekend Kilifi County Commissioner Mr.Magu Mutindika said the 945,000 people represents 67% of the targeted people of about 1.3million in the County.
Mr. Mutindika identified shortage of registration forms, power failure and poor network coverage that affected the whole registration process in the County.
He said the registration gadgets experienced power failure and poor network coverage in the rural areas, such as Bamba, Kaloleni and Magarini Sub Counties hence, contributing small number of people who were registered during the mass Huduma Namba registration.
