Alamin elected new FKF Mombasa Branch Chairman

In a fiercely contested election at Shanzu Teachers Training College, Ahmed Alamin Abdalla, the Chairman of Congo Boys football club, emerged as the new chairman of the Mombasa Branch of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

Alamin, together with his running mate, Betty Kerubo, won by 26 votes, while his opponent, the former Chairperson Lilian Nandundu, garnered 22 votes, with Ali Salim polling 8 votes.

Alamin’s victory marked a new era for local football governance in Mombasa.

The new Secretary, Stephen Mureithi, garnered 36 votes. His competitors, Mahfudh Omar and Mohammed Salim, got 18 votes and 2 votes, respectively.

Hamis Amrani retained his seat as the Treasurer after getting 23 votes, hence defeating his rivals, Mohammed Ramdhan, who received 19 votes, and Wilson Karisa, who got 14 votes.

The Youth Representative position was taken by Jones Kyalo, who won with 24 votes, while his opponent Hussein Yahya and Safi Ahmed both polled 16 votes.

In the race for Women’s Representative, Lucy Abuna won after bagging 23 votes, while her opponents, Diona Demba and Sylvian Musau, got 21 votes and 10 votes, respectively.

As the newly elected Mombasa County Chairman, Alamin will be among the 94 delegates who will elect the National Executive Committee members on December 9.
