The Ahero Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA), Ken Ooko has condemned the brutal murder of six bouncers in Busia County that were hired from the area.
The men were hired by a widow, Mercy Aduol, from Ahero to offer security during the burial of her late husband in Bumala, Busia County.
The MCA has called on the police to carry out investigations and arrest those who might have been connected with the murder of the bouncers.
“It is very painful to loose young souls in this manner. We want the police to conduct thorough investigations and bring the suspects to book,” he said.
Ooko said he knew the victims personally as disciplined and hardworking youth and might have been killed because of mistaken identity.
“We will offer support to the bereaved families and ensure they are given good send off as we await preliminary reports from the police,” he added.
The MCA was speaking yesterday in Ahero town after news reached the residents that the six had been murdered in Busia.
One of the hired bouncer was said to have escaped with multiple injuries. The bodies of the deceased are to be transferred to Ahero sub county mortuary.
The bouncers left Nyando Sub County for Butula in Busia to provide security during the burial of the late businessman murdered a fortnight ago.
It was believed the presence of the bouncers created fear among the mourners who sought to know who they were, their motive and why they were providing security to the body.
