Meru county heads of departments have been warned against casual skipping of CDICC meetings and project verification tours.
Chairing a CDICC meeting in his Boardroom on Tuesday, the County Commissioner (CC), Allan Machari said each department had a mandatory role to play in spearheading full implementation of government funded activities in the region.
Machari urged heads of department to remain firm and focus on operating within exiting guidelines and policies as they executed their duties in respective departments and areas of community and national development.
He reiterated that any department entrusted with funds meant to improve on community livelihoods was expected to closely work in consultation with the CDICC for due diligence in the utilization of the monies.
The CC said all government officers must assist the government to reach citizens through the implementation of projects and programs geared towards socio-economic growth and transformation of lives.
“Managing public resources remain a collective responsibility and calls for synergy building among all players serving the interest of the government in positively transforming lives,” he said
Machari pointed out that nobody and no institution involved in the management or handling of government funds would claim to be exempted from following the laid down procedures in channeling the resources to beneficiaries.
“Government grants are part of tax payers’ sweat and should be accounted for accordingly,” he stressed.
