Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Cabinet Secretary, (CS) Aden Duale, has assumed the full responsibility of acting CS for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
The move follows the Cabinet changes announced on December 19, 2024 by the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, where the outgoing Agriculture and Livestock Development CS Dr. Andrew Karanja was nominated to be Kenya’s ambassador to Brazil.
During a brief handover ceremony at Kilimo House on Tuesday, outgoing CS Dr. Karanja thanked the staff for their support and wished the incoming team success in achieving the Ministry’s goals.
The event was attended by the Principal Secretary (PS) Agriculture, Dr. Paul Kiprono; PS Livestock Development, Jonathan Mueke, Agriculture Secretary, Collin Marangu and the Secretary Administration Rashid Khator, who expressed gratitude to Dr. Karanja’s for his dedicated service and pledged support for the incoming leadership.
Duale reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the Ministry’s mandate, prioritizing food security, and ensuring a smooth transition to the new leadership.
The Cabinet Nominee for Agriculture and Livestock Development is Mutahi Kagwe who together with other newly appointed cabinet and diplomatic nominees await vetting by the National Assembly.
