Acute water shortage hits Masalani

An acute water shortage has hit Masalani town in Ijara Sub County over the last one week with most of institutions in the area are on the verge of closure after the taps went dry.

According to the newly posted Sub County Water Coordinator Mr James Ombaso, the severe shortage was occasioned by an electricity fault at the intake point where operations stall due to the technicality as the engines were electric power driven.

He said the officer in charge of local Kenya power Mr Timothy John said engineers were working round the clock to fix the problem and expressed optimism that the anomaly could be sorted as soon as possible so that supply was resumed.
