Kilifi County has embarked on adequate preparations for this year’s August 24/25 national census to ensure realization of accurate, reliable and complete data during the exercise.
Speaking during a census committee meeting in his boardroom Thursday, area county commissioner Magu Mutindika said cases where enumerators cooked figures like in the 2009 census must be avoided at all costs.
He said village elders and Nyumba Kumi agents will fully be involved in areas of Chonyi and Kauma Sub Counties, where they have had boundary disputes for sometimes, while security surveillance will be increased.
“We will not take things for granted where security matters are concerned. All areas suspected to be insecure will have additional security officers to accompany enumerators,” he said.
County census director Josiah Kaara said a 7 day training of ICT supervisors will kick off from July 25, 2019 to July 31, 2019.
He said upon completion of the training, they will become trainers of content supervisors whose training will kick off on August 12, 2019.
