AAR commits to affordable healthcare

AAR Healthcare Kenya has opened its second state-of-the-art clinic in Mombasa in a bid to bring quality and affordable healthcare closer to the people.

Elizabeth Wasunna, General Manager (GM) of AAR, while launching AAR services in Bamburi, said it will be a big milestone in the history of Healthcare in the coastal town of Mombasa.

The Mombasa Clinic has been operating for the last 23 years and primarily concentrates on providing treatment for cardiovascular and upper respiratory diseases, besides offering specialised dental services as part of its comprehensive healthcare approach.

The newly opened Bamburi Clinic aims to specialise in gynaecology and paediatric care.

“Today we have achieved a big milestone in bringing healthcare services closer to Kenyans and specifically to Bamburi, and we are quite excited and optimistic about this investment we have made,” said Wasunna.

The GM announced plans to expand AAR Healthcare operations with the opening of three additional clinics in Meru, Kisii, and Nairobi by August 2023. AAR Healthcare’s ambitious expansion plan aims to grow to 40 clinics by its 40th anniversary next year.

The clinics, the GM said, will contribute to enhancing healthcare services and meeting the growing healthcare needs of communities in various regions.

“That’s the great ambition that we have because we also understand and know that 75 per cent of Kenyans get their primary healthcare from outpatient centres. We want to ensure we are closer to where the citizens are and they can get this affordable healthcare closer to where they stay,” she said.

Dr. Joyce Sitonik, Head of Clinic Business Operations at AAR Healthcare Kenya, emphasised the importance of quality healthcare being readily available in Mombasa County.

“The new clinic in Bamburi reinforces our commitment to providing high-quality medical care to the residents of Mombasa County. At AAR Healthcare Kenya, we believe that every patient deserves the best possible care, and we have spared no effort in ensuring that our facility is equipped with cutting-edge medical technology.

We have invested in the resources necessary to provide accurate diagnoses and effective treatments,” said Dr. Sitonik.

Mombasa County Governor Abdulswammad Nassir commended AAR Healthcare for bringing its services to Mombasa.

“We must harness the power of collaboration and forge partnerships that will enable us to achieve our vision. That is why I emphasise the importance of the county government working hand in hand with private sector players,” said Governor Nassir.

“By joining forces with our friends in the private sector, like AAR Healthcare Kenya, we can leverage their expertise, resources, and innovation to enhance the healthcare landscape in Mombasa County,” he added.
