A six year old girl was rushed to Makueni Referral Hospital for specialised treatment after she was defiled by a 45 year old man on Wednesday.
The minor was allegedly walking through a thicket in her home at Kaluli village in Mukaa Sub-county when she met the suspect who defiled her.
However, her screams attracted villagers who ran to rescue her where they gave chase and arrested the culprit Joseph Muoka Nzivo and handed him to the police in Salama Police station.
The Makueni County Police Commander (CPC), Joseph Ole Naipeyan confirmed the incident, saying the suspect was in police custody.
“The incident was reported to the police by the mother of the girl. The girl had earlier been rushed to Kilungu but was transferred to Makueni Referral Hospital,” said Ole Naipeyan while speaking to KNA on the telephone on Thursday.
However, he observed that the culprit will be arraigned in court soon after investigations are complete.
