A man has denied the charge of defiling a 17 year old girl at Timboni area of Malindi Sub County.
Boss Baya Yaa appeared before Malindi Resident Magistrate Ms. Olga Onalo charged that on the October 17th 2018 at Timboni area in Malindi Sub County Kilifi County, he had carnal knowledge of the girl aged 17 years.
He is also charged that on the same day he intentionally committed an indecent act by touching the private parts of the girl.
He denied the charges and was released on a sh. 200,000 bond with surety.
The accused told the Court that the bond terms were too high for him to and that he did not have parents who could help him raise the bond.
Prosecuting Counsel Njoki Keng’aara however insisted on the bond term limits issued by Onalo saying that further talks on bond should be done when witnesses appear in court.
In her ruling on bond terms Onalo said, “The bond terms are lenient in the circumstances, talk to your family to see if they can raise that bond and if they fail then you are free to come to court and plead.”
The case will be mentioned on March 8, 2019 and heard on June 20, 2019.
