Machakos County Chief Officers sworn in

Machakos County has sworn in eight chief officers for different departments and the chairman of the county public service, which was witnessed by Governor Wavinya Ndeti, the Deputy Governor, and other county officials.

The governor, who spoke during the swearing-in at Machakos Peoples Park, said that the officers, being professionals, should work hard and deliver so as to prove the naysayers wrong.

She told the officers that Machakos County is all about work and achieving targets, and she can never be friends with non-workers because the people of Machakos trusted her with the governor’s seat.

“We campaigned together, pulled our resources together, and walked the journey as one, so we are still friends, but when it comes to work, there is no friendship but working for the people of Machakos,” added Wavinya.

Wavinya urged them to maintain a good image since they represent the county and will interact with foreigners, and every position comes with responsibility.

“Portray a good image of the county, which will also reflect a good image for the country since we interact with people from other countries, so you are representing the country, and what you portray out there matters,” said the governor.

She implored all the county workers to take their work seriously and to make the county a good example through performance and development by serving the people of Machakos.

“To the newly-sworn officers, you have found work has already started; have that multiplicity effect to improve public service,” pointed Wavinya.

Wavinya said all the new chief officers appointed are qualified, so the county should be number one in performance as long as they work together as a team.

She further noted that they are in the process of computerizing Machakos County to be a cashless county, thus encouraging investors to come aboard.
