The National Council of Non-Organization (NGO’s) has supported the government for curbing insecurity cases in the country, and called for more stringent measures.
Speaking during the briefing at his office at Nyayo House, Nairobi, the National Chairman NGO, Stephen Cheboi, called upon the government to enhance peace and security in the country and deal firmly with criminals who have been terrorizing the lives of innocent citizens.
Mr. Cheboi said the National Council of Non-Governmental Organization in Kenya are in the forefront to make sure that the lives of Kenyans are safeguarded and improved, depending on their ability and that of the nation.
He also appealed to members of the organization to make sure that Kenyans in affected areas are safe and enjoying their life.
“We should have to move forward and we should not have to bring issues that are past such as the visit of the President in Nyanza region was really amazed because as a leader you should have to serve Kenyans equally irrespective of their ethnic background and religion, is a sign of unity in our country and we also need to stabilize our nation,” the Chairman stated.
In her remarks, the Founder of relief organization, Mrs. Bashir, urged the government to come out and communicate with “grassroots” of the National Council of NGOs and also for the security to be tightened in the marginalized area.
She at the same time stated that her organization is doing a research for those girls and women and she encouraged the government to partner with her.
“Those kids who are in the marginalized area to be registered as a citizens and send their representative to see those areas properly because it is part of Kenya and those peoples are Kenyan citizens, they should have to enjoy their rights just like other citizens and to make sure they get food they deserve for them to survive,” she stated.
