Mugirango automates bursary system

West Mugirango Member of Parliament (MP) Stephen Mogaka has launched a digital system for his electorates to apply for education bursary online.

While officiating the inauguration of the digital bursary processing launch at West Mugirango National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) hall, the legislature stated that he initiated the programme to curb the entrenched bursary allocation malpractice which has been excluding the most deserving students.

“Every child has a right to access the bursary so long as they live in West Mugirango irrespective of who their parents voted for in the past general elections. I will not accept allocation of bursary courtesy of the mercy of CDF staff because they may be tempted to be partial, the reason why I initiated the online registration where information of all those who have applied for bursary can be easily retrieved.” stated the legislature.

He further explained that automation of bursary applications will enable the bursary committee to select those who deserve to qualify easily because we have incorporated national government administrators in the authentication of those who are truly vulnerable and deserve to be given the education bursary.

“I want to appreciate the Information Technology (IT) gurus in my office who came up with this software after explaining my idea to them which they have perfectly innovated to save us the agony of proofing that truly a beneficiary applied and should therefore never be left out.” MP Mogaka said.

Mogaka warned West Mugirango residents against con-people who will take advantage of those without sufficient information to cheat them so they can provide them with an application form at a minimal fee.

The serial number of the application form is automatically generated after applying for the bursary online and can be readily authenticated by a Quick Response (QR) code to avoid those who do not deserve from benefiting. The application can be done in a cyber or a mobile phone but you will have to photocopy your filled form which has to be authenticated by the area chiefs and assistant chief.

The National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) supports the education sector in issuing bursaries and improving the infrastructure of various public intuitions to make the learning environment for learners conductive.
