Police pursue a hospital clerk and detain a youth for abducting school girl

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) are pursuing a clerk from Chuka Level Five hospital for allegedly abducting a form one student and locking her in his house and have detained a youth at Chuka police station over a similar offence.

County Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO) Ms. Betty Chepng’eno said they swung into action after being alerted by residents that the clerk was seen entering his residence with a school girl and on following up, they found the girl but the suspect managed to dodge their dragnet. The girl is from Iruma Secondary school.
In a similar incident, Peter Munene Murithi is being detained at Chuka Police Station awaiting to be taken to court on Monday after he accompanied the police to his residence where he was holding a Chuka Girl’s High school student.
According to the CCIO, the youth was cornered after a tip off from members of the public that a school girl had been seen entering his residence.
Ms. Chepng’eno said the parents to the girl had reported that their daughter had not arrived home since the school closed more than a week ago.
Murithi was cornered by police detectives in Weru market and on taking them to his residence, they found the school girl locked in.
The CCIO told parents to monitor the whereabouts of their school going children during the holidays because the moral decay in the society today has led to teenage pregnancies and dropouts from schools.
